Motherhood Painting Series Debut

Seven watercolors from a series Amelia began painting about the concept of her personally becoming a mother are now on display at the Museum Of Motherhood in NYC through early January 2012. The featured paintings mark the beginning of a 21 piece series Amelia started right before she got pregnant. The series explores her fear of becoming a parent in spite of her experience of being physically and verbally abused as a child. Would she become this type of parent or would she be able to break the cycle? With the help of many transformational workshops, various life coaches, gurus, energy workers and dear friends, she managed to come to terms with the possibility that she could actually become a good mother. In 2007, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who has brought great joy and sleep deprivation to her and her husband’s life. She is grateful to everyone who helped her achieve this break-through moment into motherhood. It should be noted that many of these paintings inspired songs recorded on the Amelia’s Dream album “Unravel“.
